Fire weekends are interactive workshops
on living the life of the Holy Spirit. Particular themes are chosen for
each weekend covering such areas as the charisms, gifts, and fruits of
the Holy Spirit. An emphasis on personal growth in holiness in a
community environment is a consistent theme throughout these weekend
retreats. Retreat groups are typically small, usually less than 20. This facilitates personal accompanyment of each individual during their retreat period and provides them an opportunity to contribute directly and bond with the retreat team and the other retreatants. Fire weekend retreats are presented in the form of several key talks given by the retreat team, and other members of the Beatitudes Community. A Generous amount of time is also given for personal prayer. |
| In addition, prayer for an infusion of the Holy Spirit and healing prayer occur at most weekends, typically after a dedicated mass and in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Fire weekend ministries is based at the community house and is run with community support by Chris and Flavia Vaness. Fire weekends are run several times throughout the year. | |
