Disciple of the LambThe Disciples of the Lamb are young people who make a yearly commitment to following the Lord and his Church through one of the houses of the Community of the Beatitudes1. The community commits to offer them guidance, formation in the Beatitudes' charisms, and an experience of community life. This formation aims at developing habits of prayer, sacramental and moral life, relationships, service, and explicit testimony of personal faith that distinguishes them from the spirit of the world. Moreover, the discipleship leads them towards steps of discernment towards a decisive response to God's call for their lives. Here in Denver, the commitment is possible for those 19-26 who demonstrate adequate maturity, availability, and readiness for:

  • a commitment for the duration of the academic year (renewable for 3 years)
  • discipleship face-to-face or via Skype with one of us
  • one Saturday half-day per month: teaching, prayer, meals, community sharing

Distance DL: read or listen to monthly teaching and tune in for discussion via social media

  • other optional activities with the community, e.g., a Thursday night office and adoration, a Shabbat, a field-trip, a mission, an overnight stay...
  • a monthly half-tithe (it doesn't matter how much, but it is to get into the habit of tithing)
  • Advent prayer partners
  • a possible pilgrimage to Israel, France or World Youth Day

1“In the desire to live of the spirituality of the Community of the Beatitudes, certain young people, who journey together within the different groups, associations and activities that the Community offers, bind themselves to it more directly through a commitment contained in a specific charter that is written in the Norms.” -General Statutes of the Community of the Beatitudes
